Twenty years ago, Richard McKey designed and built a contemporary art studio on North State Street in Jackson, MS, where he produced and successfully marketed his work to local and regional collectors for display in homes and businesses. He recognized the need for a space to show his art and works by other artists, so he opened Fondren Art Gallery and Frame Shop. There, he could expand his sales inventory beyond his work to local, national, and international artists. Recently, Richard expanded his business to downtown Jackson, near the MS Coliseum, where he continues to create, frame, and sell his work and others. Through the years, Richard has enjoyed and found solace in the visual arts and music, especially the guitar. He performs at local venues both solo and with other musicians.
AnaMaria Elizabeth Miceli was born to be an artist. At 15 months old, she meticulously chose the crayons she would use for her first drawing of a rainbow. Her love for creativity continued throughout her childhood expressed in her paintings and sculpting. She’s had several exhibitions through the years and now at 14 years of age paints on a daily basis. She has been under the continual, artistic instruction of her mother, Dr. Robin Miceli.
