Gallery at 3242 North State Street open Thursday and Saturday 10-4:00
The Fondren Art Gallery celebrates both the wide-ranging visual artistry and the rich musical history of the state, right in the heart of Jackson. We are very excited to share with you the Mississippi Blues Museum Art Show - a newly renovated space dedicated to the display and sale of art depicting Blues legends and culture, and a wonderful venue for many events to come!
The Mississippi Blues Museum can be found on the lower level of the Fondren Art Gallery, at 3242 N. State Street in Jackson. The space includes three main rooms: "Po' Richard's Juke Joint" (above, left) - an area for drinks and conversation, The Portrait Gallery (below) - a room filled floor-to-ceiling with homages to all of your favorite blues legends, and The Green Room (above, right) - a delightfully emerald-tinted space with a stage, instruments, and yes, even more art.
Join Fondren Art Gallery founder, Richard McKey and Pacesetter Gallery owner, Keri Davis for a night of Blues in The Green Room on Friday, November 17th! This event will feature live music from friends who love music and visual art, drinks, moon pies, giveaways, and more art for sale throughout the gallery! You won't want to miss it!
Join the Fondren Art Gallery crew and special guest Chris Gill in The Green Room on Thursday, November 2nd! This marks the beginning of many events at the Mississippi Blues Museum on the first Thursday of each month (same time as Fondren Live!) featuring live music, drinks, moon pies, giveaways, and more art for sale throughout the gallery! You won't want to miss it!
Join us Friday, October 20th for a night of blues in The Green Room with special guest Jake Carter! The second public event at the Mississippi Blues Museum will feature live music, drinks, moon pies, and more art for sale throughout the gallery!
On October 5th, 2023, we celebrated the GRAND OPENING of the Mississippi Blues Museum! Founder Richard McKey's passion for music is palpable in the space, and we are so excited to finally share both levels of this wonderful location with the Fondren community (and beyond!) as it continues growing in the years to come.
